Special effects make any lesson so fun - why wait till Halloween?! Today I found myself trying something with paper to keep a student’s fingers from creeping up up up! She loved it so much we played for the whole lesson with the paper in!! Also check out Dan Brown’s ‘Wild Symphony’ - a book about different instruments in the orchestra and with beautiful poems and positive affirmations. He composed music for each animal and the harp is used for the spider!! Point the phone at the pages and the Wild Symphony app plays the music - it’s magical and such a useful teaching tool when the kids just need a brain break! Tickled pink was always on my ‘when I’m older I want to be able to play’ list and her music just seemed a magical world away from the classical pieces I had to learn.
